How can we help?

Answers to the most common questions about Simday eSIMs — plans, setup, and more.

General

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built directly into your device. It lets you activate a mobile data plan without inserting a physical card — everything is done digitally, in seconds.

Simday offers eSIM plans for 191+ countries worldwide. Browse the Destinations page to find a plan for your specific country or region.

International roaming uses your home carrier's network at high per-MB rates. Simday connects you to a local carrier at local prices — no surprise charges, no bill shock. You pay once, upfront, and that's it.

Yes. Your physical SIM stays in your phone alongside the eSIM. Your regular number remains active for calls and SMS — the eSIM only handles data while you're abroad.

Creating an account is recommended so you can access your eSIM QR codes, track data usage, and manage your plans from any device. You can browse plans without an account.

Plans & Pricing

Each plan includes a set amount of data and a validity period (number of days). Data is for use in the countries listed on the plan — calls and SMS are not included.

Your plan activates the first time your device uses data on the eSIM network — not at purchase. You can install everything before you travel and the clock only starts when you land and use data.

Data stops automatically. Your plan does not auto-renew or charge you extra. You can purchase a new plan at any time from the Destinations page.

Yes — Simday offers regional plans that cover multiple countries in a single package. Check the plan details on the destination page to see the full list of covered countries.

Some destinations do have unlimited plans available. Availability depends on the local network and country. Browse the destination page to see all plan options, including unlimited where offered.

Setup

After purchase, you'll receive a QR code. On iPhone: go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM and scan the code. On Android: go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM and scan. The whole process takes under 2 minutes.

Yes — you need a Wi-Fi or data connection once to download the eSIM profile. After installation, the eSIM works independently and no further Wi-Fi is needed.

Absolutely — and we recommend it. Install and test your eSIM at home over Wi-Fi. Your plan only activates when you first use data abroad, so there is no risk of using up your plan early.

Make sure you're scanning in good lighting and the QR code hasn't been used before (each code is single-use). If it still doesn't work, contact support — we'll resend a fresh code or assist with manual activation.

eSIMs are tied to the device they were installed on. They cannot be transferred to another phone. If you switch devices, you'll need to purchase a new plan. Contact support if you have an exceptional circumstance.

Troubleshooting

First, ensure the eSIM is set as your active data line in Settings. Try toggling Airplane Mode off and on. If the issue persists, check that data roaming is enabled on the eSIM line, then contact support with your order details.

Go to Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data) and confirm the eSIM line is selected for data. Enable 'Data Roaming' on the eSIM line. If you're in a remote area, try manually selecting a network operator under carrier settings.

Plans expire after the number of days stated, regardless of remaining data. For example, a 7-day plan expires 7 days after first use even if data remains. We recommend choosing a plan duration that fits your trip length.

On most devices, once deleted, an eSIM cannot be reinstalled using the same QR code. Before deleting, contact support so we can prepare a replacement if needed. Do not delete your eSIM unless instructed to do so.
